Dr. Mark E. Glover, DDS, MSD
Dr. Glover is a native Texan, a 1975 graduate of Texas A&M University and a 1978 graduate of the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. In 1979, he left his practice of general dentistry and relocated to Seattle, where he completed his residency in periodontics at the University of Washington. In 1982, he received an M.S.D. degree for research in periodontal bone regeneration. He returned to Dallas following graduation where he established his now world-class private periodontal and dental implant practice.
Dr. Glover continues to keep abreast of his specialty by attending and hosting seminars. He has published many articles in state, national and international periodontal journals and books. He has served as President of both the Texas Society of Periodontists and the Southwest Society of Periodontics, and was board certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1994.
Dr. Akshay A. Chhana, DDS, MS
A Texas native, Dr. Chhana attended Baylor University where he double majored in Biology and Medical Humanities. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with High Honors and a Distinction in Research from the University of Texas Health San Antonio. During his tenure, he served as class Vice President and received numerous awards for leadership and academic excellence, including the prestigious Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics. He went on to present his research on Autophagy at the International Association for Dental Research in Vancouver and the San Antonio Symposium.
Following dental school, Dr. Chhana completed a three-year residency program at the University of North Carolina, earning both a specialty Certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Periodontology after conducting research on autogenous tooth transplantation. He published his research on transplantation in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, an international and peer-reviewed journal. Following residency, he earned one of the highest honors in our specialty, Board Certification in Periodontics, by the American Board of Periodontology. His expertise encompasses all aspects of surgical and non-surgical periodontics, including treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, bone and soft-tissue regeneration, tooth transplantation, IV sedation, surgically facilitated orthodontics, and complex implant procedures. His proficiency extends to cutting-edge treatments such as laser periodontal surgery, the use of platelet-derived growth factors, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Chhana currently serves as adjunct faculty in the Periodontal Graduate Program at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry, driven by a commitment to teaching and staying at the forefront of evidence-based periodontal and implant related care. He also is an active member of the Dallas County Dental Society, American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, the Texas Dental Association, the Southwest Society of Periodontists, and the Academy of Osseointegration. When he isn’t in the clinic or teaching, Dr. Chhana is a self-proclaimed sushi connoisseur who loves exploring the local culinary scene. He stays active playing pickleball and enjoys traveling with friends and family. A true Texas sports fan, you can often find him cheering on the Cowboys, Dallas Stars, or Mavericks!
